Job Responsibilities
- You will work in the doctor’s office and closely with the Laboratory team to provide the best service /care to our patients.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Perform, collect, and label CLIA-waived lab tests for sending out to the Laboratory.
- Collecting blood and specimen samples from patients and donors and labelling all collected samples accurately for tests as in the job description.
- Entering data for patients into an electronic medical record (EMR/LIMS).
- Protecting patient privacy rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Explaining the procedure and treatments that will be performed.
- Clean and sterilize both instruments and equipment after use.
- Perform both DOT and Non-DOT Urine drug and alcohol tests.
- Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for laboratory testing.
- You are required to travel to the lab to drop off the specimen along with patient documentation at the Lab.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Laboratory.
Job Requirements
- License / Certification
- Associate degree
- High School/GED
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a phlebotomist.
- Certified Professional collector/Phlebotomy technician
- Certified Medical Assistant required.
- Current certification in CPR / BLS
- Driver’s License required
- Ability to work all shifts, including Saturday hours if needed.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
- Willingness to travel
- 25% of travel required
Physical Requirements
- The job may risks include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, lifting of 15 -30 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease. PPE is required at all times when in contact with a patient.
Schedule
- 5am-12pm / 7:30am-3:30pm
- Monday- Friday
- Saturday 9-2pm
- Job Types- Full-time, Part time, contract.
- Salary: DOE
- Pay $15-$20/hr
- Covid-19 considerations: PPE is provided to all staff. Proper PPE attire is required at all times when in contact with any patient.
